Spring Fling is the largest student run carnival in the nation. 2008 will be the 34rd anniversary of Spring Fling
and the eighth year that
the carnival will be held at Rillito Downs. Last year’s attendance was approximately
30,000 people.
Similar to most carnivals, Spring Fling features rides, midway games,
food, and both amateur and professional entertainment.
Spring Fling is unique in that each year over 3,000 dedicated students,
including twelve directors, who work year round, come together to create
the spirit and the fun that Spring Fling brings to the University of Arizona
and the Tucson community.
Spring Fling serves as a fund-raising opportunity for campus clubs and
organizations. The combined gross profit from the groups averages $80,000
per year. |
